Overview
- Friday night the homeowner returned to his house on the 1300 block of Heron Way, confronted an unknown man armed with a shotgun, and shot after the intruder fired at him.
- Deputies arriving at about 10:30 p.m. found the intruder suffering from a gunshot wound and pronounced him dead at the scene, and the homeowner was not injured.
- The homeowner was taken to the San Jacinto Sheriff's Station for questioning and has not been arrested.
- The Riverside County Sheriff's Office Central Homicide Unit has assumed the investigation and is asking the public to contact investigators Cook or Ghiliotty with any tips.
