Samsung Starts U.S. Rollout of Blood Pressure Monitoring on Galaxy Watch

The wrist checks require a cuff calibration with monthly rechecks.

Overview

  • Samsung, which began a phased U.S. release Tuesday, says availability will appear in stages on Galaxy Watch units.
  • To take a reading, users must calibrate the watch with a separate upper‑arm cuff and repeat the process every 28 days.
  • It supports Galaxy Watch 4 and newer on Wear OS 4 paired with an Android 12 or higher phone and it requires the Samsung Health Monitor app from the Galaxy Store.
  • Samsung frames the readings as informational rather than medical care, noting the CDC estimates about 119.9 million U.S. adults had high blood pressure in 2025.
  • The capability has been available in South Korea for years and Samsung says passive blood pressure trend tracking is planned for later this year.
