Samsung Rolls Out One UI 9 Beta 4 to Galaxy S26 Series

The update is a final stability push that readies Samsung’s Android 17 build for the new foldables at its July 22 Unpacked event.

Overview

  • Samsung began distributing One UI 9 Beta 4 to Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra devices on Tuesday with a roughly 1.25GB package labeled firmware S948BXXU4ZZG4 that also includes the July 2026 security level.
  • The beta targets specific interface and system faults by fixing lock‑screen clock scaling when rotated, Quick Panel stuttering, the navigation bar disappearing in some games, truncated Live Notification timers, and broken Routines actions for Bluetooth volume.
  • Separately, Samsung pushed a July 2026 security‑only update for the S26 series (firmware S94xBXXS4AZG5, about 500MB) that expanded into India and parts of Europe to patch dozens of vulnerabilities.
  • Rollouts are staged region by region with early sightings in India and reports of distribution in the UK, South Korea, Germany, and Poland, and Samsung expects the builds to reach additional markets, including the US, in the coming days.
  • Samsung is treating this beta as a stabilization milestone before the retail One UI 9 release for new foldables, but it may issue further beta builds and the timing of a wider stable update will vary by model and market.
