Samsung Rolls Out ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex to Large Parts of Its Workforce

The move formalizes a deeper SamsungOpenAI partnership that extends from chip supply to companywide AI use under strict enterprise security and governance controls.

Overview

  • Samsung announced on June 11–12 that it will make ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex available to all employees in South Korea and to staff across its global Device eXperience division.
  • Codex will be used for writing, reviewing, debugging code and for automating internal workflows while ChatGPT Enterprise will support information search, data analysis, document drafting and idea development.
  • Samsung says the tools will be deployed inside its existing security and governance frameworks and that companywide training on the systems is planned to finish by the end of 2026.
  • Samsung SDS will act as a reseller and managed-deployment partner for ChatGPT Enterprise, and the deal builds on Samsung’s prior role supplying advanced memory semiconductors to OpenAI.
  • OpenAI reports Codex now has more than 5 million weekly users and South Korea has seen about 800% growth in Codex use since February, a trend that could speed internal automation and give Samsung teams faster ways to build tools and scale workflows.
