Samsung Puts Micro RGB TVs on Sale in the U.S., Starting at $1,599

The launch marks a bid to move LED-per-color displays from show-floor demos to a real rival for OLED in living rooms.

Overview

  • Samsung’s 2026 Micro RGB lineup, which it announced Tuesday for U.S. buyers, includes new R85H and R95H series now available through Samsung and Best Buy.
  • Prices start at $1,599 for a 55-inch R85H and reach $6,499 for an 85-inch R95H, with last year’s 115-inch MR95F still listed at $29,999 and a 100-inch model planned later this year.
  • Micro RGB replaces a white or blue backlight with tiny red, green, and blue LEDs that light up on their own, a design Samsung says enables 100% BT.2020 color coverage for richer, more precise hues.
  • The sets run a Micro RGB AI Engine Pro that auto-calibrates color, smooths motion, and supports HDR10+ Advanced, while the R95H adds Glare Free tech and up to 165Hz refresh and the R85H tops out at 144Hz.
  • Early hands-on impressions praise the vivid color yet note some modes push saturation so hard that scenes can look unreal, which suggests buyers may want to fine-tune presets for different content.
