Overview
- Samsung’s bulletin, published Tuesday, lists 47 security fixes for April with 14 critical Android vulnerabilities and additional Samsung-specific patches, and the company is pushing the update in phases by model and region.
- Samsung confirmed that key Galaxy S26 AI tools are coming to the Galaxy S25 series with One UI 8.5, including AI call screening that answers unknown numbers on-device and shows a live transcript.
- The April patch is already live for the Galaxy S26 in India and Europe and for the Galaxy S25 in South Korea, and it is also reaching the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, and the Galaxy Z TriFold first in Korea.
- Samsung acknowledged reports of blurry images at 3x zoom on the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s telephoto camera and says a fix is in development as the latest S26 firmware also tweaks 3x camera performance.
- One UI 8.5 beta programs are widening to more devices such as the S24 line, Fold and Flip 6 models, FE phones, and Tab S11, a beta build for the A55 has surfaced on Samsung’s servers, and a leaker tips April 30 for the S25’s stable 8.5 rollout in Korea with global release in early May.
