Overview
- The phone was unveiled at Samsung’s August event and the Galaxy S26 FE goes on sale Friday, September 4 with pre-order and notify pages already live.
- Samsung is shipping the S26 FE first with One UI 9 on Android 17 and new AI tools such as Now Brief, Now Nudge, Circle to Search, Photo Assist, Gemini Omni and My FanCam.
- Under the hood the S26 FE uses a 3nm Exynos 2500 with claimed GPU and NPU gains while keeping a 6.7-inch 120Hz display, 50+8+12MP triple cameras, a 4,900mAh battery and 45W wired/15W wireless charging.
- At roughly $699 the FE narrows the price gap with Samsung’s own S26 models and rivals, and early coverage notes the S26+ can be cheaper in some trims while the FE ships with 8GB of RAM versus 12GB on other S26 phones.
- Watch for early sales and reviews to show whether One UI 9’s AI features and seven-year update promise change buyer choices or prompt Samsung to roll the software back to older models, which would alter the FE’s unique value.
