Overview
- Samsung broadened the Android 16–based One UI 8.5 beta on Thursday to the Galaxy S24 lineup (including FE), Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy S24 FE, and Galaxy Tab S11 in India, South Korea, the UK, and the US.
- Owners enroll through the Samsung Members app, then pull the beta by going to Settings, selecting Software update, and tapping Download and install.
- The beta adds practical tools such as upgraded Bixby voice features, partial screen recording, and a clearer battery page, and it includes the March 2026 security patch.
- Samsung is also pushing iterative builds, with the Galaxy S25 series now on Beta 8 that adds a new Gallery Story Type and fixes dozens of issues, including 65 security vulnerabilities.
- Samsung warns the beta can cause crashes or data loss, and it is skipping some usual test markets this round—reports note China, Germany, and Poland—while it readies a broader stable rollout.
