Samsung Display Starts Supplying Three OLED Screens for Zeekr’s 9X SUV

The move extends a 2024 Zeekr tie-up to bolster Samsung Display's automotive OLED push.

Overview

  • Samsung Display said on Jan. 21 it began supplying three OLED panels—the 16-inch center information and passenger displays and a 17-inch rear-seat entertainment screen—for Zeekr’s flagship 9X SUV.
  • The 17-inch rear display uses a roof-mounted “wing-style sliding screen,” jointly developed with Zeekr and described by the companies as a first in a production vehicle.
  • Mounted on ceiling rails, the rear screen can travel up to 88 centimeters between the second and third rows to optimize viewing angles.
  • The two front-row OLEDs can function as a single integrated surface or operate independently depending on driving conditions.
  • Samsung frames the deal as an expansion of a partnership that began with Zeekr’s 009 in 2024 and says it will keep introducing differentiated automotive OLEDs; The Korea Herald reports the 9X led China’s roughly 500,000 yuan large-SUV segment in November and December.
