Samsung Brings SmartThings Data to Now Brief Across Phones, TVs and Fridges

The update links Galaxy devices with home appliances to surface caregiving alerts at a glance.

Overview

  • Samsung said its SmartThings platform now feeds into Now Brief, extending the glanceable cards to Galaxy phones, 2024 or newer Samsung TVs, and 2021 or newer Family Hub refrigerators.
  • On supported TVs and fridges, Now Brief can appear on its own when you walk up or open the door, showing SmartThings updates like device status, pet walks, door lock alerts, energy use, activity, sleep data, and weekly Care Insight comparisons.
  • Family Care now sends caregivers reminders for medications and hospital visits, using SmartThings to flag key moments for people who need help at home.
  • Care on Call adds a floating pop-up during phone calls with a care recipient that shows first activity of the day, local weather, and the time of the most recent activity.
  • Safety Patrol on compatible robot vacuums can recognize a fall and open video and audio so a caregiver can check in and talk to the person.
