Samsung Adds Network Speed Meter to Galaxy Status Bar via Good Lock

Delivered through the QuickStar module in Good Lock on One UI 9 beta S26 phones, the meter currently needs the latest QuickStar APK and is limited to selected beta markets.

Overview

  • Samsung updated the QuickStar Good Lock module, which reporters revealed Thursday and Friday, to add a live network speed indicator that shows upload and download rates in the status bar.
  • The indicator appears on the right side of the status bar and reports speeds in K/s or M/s so users can see real‑time transfer rates rather than signal strength.
  • Samsung says the meter works over both Wi‑Fi and mobile data, but it does not replace the existing Wi‑Fi and cellular signal icons that show connection strength.
  • Access requires a Galaxy running One UI 9 (Android 17) beta, the Galaxy S26 series in selected markets, and QuickStar version 11.0.03.15 or later which may need to be installed manually when not yet in the Galaxy Store.
  • The QuickStar update also adds an 'Ongoing Chip' toggle for the Now Bar, and reporters expect the feature could reach more Galaxy models if Samsung widens the One UI 9 rollout.
