- Sam Smith officially announced Hazel Eyes and released the lead single “My Guy” on June 24, with the album set for release on Aug. 21 via Capitol Records.
- “My Guy” was co-written by Smith with Feist and Shahzad Ismaily and arrived with a music video that foregrounds the record’s warmly romantic tone.
- Hazel Eyes is a 12-track set that includes collaborations such as Feist on “Moondance,” a feature from The TwoCity Chorus on “Oh Mother,” and the previously released “To Be Free.”
- Smith co-produced the album with Simon Aldred and David Odlum, recorded parts of it at Electric Lady Studios, and says the project was written over more than three years with a small circle of close collaborators.
- The rollout follows Smith’s To Be Free residencies that previewed new songs and will begin with an intimate performance at the Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center on June 26 to kick off NYC Pride weekend.
