Sam Rockwell to Star in La MaMa Off-Broadway Revival of A View From the Bridge

Producers say the limited engagement is meant to channel commercial resources back to La MaMa by offering special member ticket rates as a test of a nonprofit-commercial model.

Overview

  • The production, which was announced Tuesday, July 14, 2026, will begin previews on Nov. 27, open on Dec. 13, and run for a 13-week limited engagement at La MaMa’s Ellen Stewart Theatre.
  • Sam Rockwell will play Eddie Carbone, with Marin Ireland as Beatrice and Alfred Molina as Alfieri, and producers said additional casting will be revealed later.
  • Neil Pepe will direct the revival with scenic design by Scott Pask, costumes by Sarah Laux, lighting by John Torres, sound by Palmer Hefferan, and casting by Taylor Williams.
  • Rockwell is listed as a co-producer alongside Mark Berger and PlayHooky Productions, tickets are on sale at viewfromthebridgeplay.com, and the producers will offer special rates for La MaMa members.
  • The staging is billed as the play’s first major Off-Broadway mounting since 1965 and is being presented as a star-driven experiment in using commercial packaging to support a downtown nonprofit theatre.
