Overview
- French health authorities alerted Spain through the EU rapid-notice system after finding Salmonella in Fuet extra from the Can Duran brand.
- AESAN publicly identified the affected batches as lot 262014422 (expiry 24/07/2026) and lot 262014423 (expiry 01/08/2026) sold in 170 g plastic bags at room temperature.
- The alert was passed to regional authorities by SCIRI so they can verify and carry out withdrawals from points of sale in Aragón, Cataluña and Navarra.
- Consumers are advised not to eat the named lots and to seek medical care if they develop symptoms of salmonellosis such as diarrhea, vomiting, fever or headache.
- Authorities say verification and trace-back work is ongoing and that the use of RASFF and national systems is standard for coordinating cross-border food-safety responses.
