Salesforce and Anthropic Launch Claudeforce to Embed Claude in CRM Workflows

The deal aims to preserve enterprise control over customer data and workflows by making chatbots the primary interface for sales tasks.

Overview

  • Salesforce and Anthropic unveiled Claudeforce on Wednesday, expanding their multi-year tie-up and beginning pilot tests of the new integration.
  • The centerpiece product, Salesforce in Claude, includes 37 pre-built sales skills that let sellers query, update, and take governed actions on live CRM records and will enter an open beta in September.
  • Claude is now set as the default model inside Slack and is integrated into Salesforce’s Agentforce platform with connections routed through Salesforce’s AIforce framework and MCP servers to apply permissions and security controls.
  • The announcement came with Salesforce’s stronger-than-expected fiscal second-quarter report and a stock surge of more than 20 percent, and follows Anthropic telling investors its annualized revenue run rate reached $65 billion at the end of July.
  • Company chiefs framed Claudeforce as a rebuttal to 'SaaSpocalypse' fears by keeping enterprise data and governance at the center, a shift that could change how vendors charge for AI access, raise token costs for customers, and will be tested publicly at the planned September beta and at Dreamforce.
