Overview
- Sukhbir Singh Badal said an SAD government would push to reopen the Attari and Fazilka crossings for exports to Central Asian markets and develop a special industrial zone in the border belt with a financial package.
- SAD pledged to raise the Shagun benefit to Rs 1 lakh, increase old-age pension to Rs 3,100 per month, and restart subsidised atta and daal at Rs 4 and Rs 20 per kg, respectively.
- The party promised to reserve all government jobs for state residents and require new industries to employ at least 75% local youth, alongside interest-free loans up to Rs 10 lakh for self-employment repayable over 10 years.
- Badal vowed quick rural fixes if elected, including tubewell connections within a week, concrete embankments on rivers, land rights for those denied so far, and free partition of joint land holdings.
- Positioning SAD as a regional alternative to AAP, leaders also said a commission would probe what they call false cases against party members, while alleging a deterioration in law and order under the current government.
