S-GAME Declares Phantom Blade Zero Is Human-Made

The stance sets the game apart from publishers embracing generative AI.

Overview

  • S-GAME said on Friday that every visual asset was created by artists and that no generative AI was used.
  • The studio added that the game is in its final development stretch with a launch set for September 9, 2026 on PS5 and PC.
  • Character models come from 3D scans, voices were recorded in Chinese and English with full lip-sync, and combat was motion-captured by more than twenty martial artists.
  • Maps were hand-drawn on Xuan rice paper by students from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and master swordsmiths forged weapon replicas to guide feel and movement.
  • Scans of sites in Fujian, Zhejiang, and Beijing shaped a China-rooted look the team calls Kungfupunk, offering a counterpoint to studios leaning into AI tools.
