Ryujin Nasukawa Stops Thongpoon in Second Round of ONE Debut

A second-round referee stoppage gives the 20-year-old a statement start in ONE, signaling his bid to lead kickboxing’s next generation.

Overview

  • Ryujin Nasukawa made his ONE Championship debut on Friday and stopped Thongpoon PK Saenchai by referee TKO at 2:00 of round two.
  • Thongpoon opened aggressively in the first round but Ryujin stunned him in round two with a right hook and a body knee before landing five unanswered shots that forced the stoppage.
  • Nasukawa entered ONE with an ISKA world title and two RISE division championships and used the Lumpinee Stadium platform to rebound from a June defeat and reestablish momentum.
  • Thongpoon came into the fight trying to snap a two-fight skid that included a loss in his kickboxing debut to Zhang Peimian and was unable to reverse that run.
  • The result came on The Inner Circle 23 card in Bangkok, which also featured an interim strawweight Muay Thai title fight and further positions Nasukawa as a contender to chase future ONE titles.
