Ryanair Signs Five-Year Google Cloud AI and Workspace Deal

Google Workspace with Gemini AI will be deployed to 35,000 Ryanair staff to boost infrastructure resilience and support the carrier’s push to 300 million passengers by 2034.

Overview

  • Ryanair announced a five-year partnership with Google Cloud on Wednesday to roll out Gemini Enterprise, DeepMind models and Google Workspace across its operations.
  • The airline said it will build custom Gemini AI agents to automate routine decisions and use DeepMind tools such as AlphaEvolve and WeatherNext to improve crew rostering, maintenance planning and operational choices.
  • The rollout covers roughly 35,000 employees and replaces parts of Ryanair’s collaboration stack with Google Workspace to speed workflows and day-to-day decision making.
  • The deal complements Ryanair’s existing use of Amazon Web Services as a dual-cloud resilience strategy, financial terms were not disclosed, and markets showed only modest same-day stock movement for Ryanair and Alphabet.
  • The move reflects a broader industry trend toward AI in operations and maintenance and could reduce delays and maintenance costs while creating new technology roles and regulatory scrutiny to watch for.
