Overview
- Scott County Circuit Court scheduled a jury trial for May 17–28, 2027, in the case against Ryan “Todd” Crawley, according to local court reporting.
- Crawley was indicted earlier this year on murder, kidnapping and evidence tampering, pleaded not guilty to the murder and kidnapping counts, and earlier admitted to evidence tampering and abuse of a corpse.
- Prosecutors allege Crawley wrapped Arnett’s body, kept it under his trailer, attached cinder blocks, and tried to drop it from Old Clays Ferry Bridge before it was left off Old Lexington Road, where it was found in August 2019.
- Four other people, including Crawley’s cousin Ronald Crawley, were charged with helping kidnap Arnett, and Ronald was arrested in Oregon in October 2019 after allegedly fleeing.
- Arnett, a mother of three, was identified after an autopsy, and the cause of her death has not been publicly established, which the upcoming trial could clarify along with the timing of the late-filed charges.
