Russian Strikes Kill Children and Destroy Major UNICEF Warehouse in Kyiv Region

Overview

• UN agencies reported that Russian missile and drone attacks over the weekend, including on Sunday, 19 July, killed at least two children and injured around 50 people across Kyiv, the Odesa region and Zaporizhzhia.
• A UNICEF‑contracted warehouse in Bilohorodka was severely damaged on 19 July, destroying more than 106,000 items worth about $3.9 million, including generators, drinking water, hygiene kits and water storage tanks.
• The World Food Programme and World Health Organization said their warehouses in Dnipro and the Kyiv region were also hit, and WFP reports one clearly marked facility has been struck repeatedly, including four hits in recent drone attacks.
• UN agencies said damage to storage sites and attacks on humanitarian workers are disrupting prepositioned supplies and slowing life‑saving deliveries, though limited emergency shipments have continued to frontline communities.
• The UN condemned the strikes, called for protection of children and humanitarian assets, and said ongoing impact assessments will determine the full loss and the effect on winter preparedness.
