Russia Strikes Odesa Region Port Sites Again, One Injured

Targeting Danube hubs strains port operations.

Overview

  • Ukrainian officials said Russian drones hit port and industrial sites in the Odesa district overnight, injuring one person and sparking fires that firefighters put out.
  • The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority reported a separate strike on the Danube port at Izmail that damaged office, production and utility buildings as well as sections of railway infrastructure.
  • Officials said the Izmail fires were extinguished and no casualties were recorded in that attack.
  • The ports authority said emergency crews are assessing damage and that Danube port operations continue with added security measures.
  • Ukraine’s Community and Territorial Development Ministry and regional chief Oleh Kiper also reported damage to port and rail facilities, and earlier this month a Panamanian‑flagged civilian vessel was damaged at Izmail.
