Kyiv imposed nationwide power limits, renewing appeals for stronger air defenses.

Overview

  • Ukraine reported 653 drones and 52 missiles were launched in the overnight assault, with air defenses downing 592 drones and 31 missiles.
  • Emergency consumption limits were introduced across most regions as grid operator Ukrenergo worked to restore service and DTEK reported damage at multiple thermal power plants.
  • Authorities said at least three people were killed, including a 7-year-old girl, and dozens were injured, with two deaths and 17 wounded in Zaporizhzhia where a dormitory was hit.
  • A few hours later, Russian bombs struck the Sloviansk thermal power plant in Donetsk Oblast, killing two people and injuring others, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
  • Russia’s Defense Ministry said it conducted a massive strike on military-industrial sites, energy infrastructure and airbases and claimed designated targets were hit, as Poland scrambled jets and briefly closed two regional airports during the barrage.
