Overview
- Overnight on June 20–21 Ukrainian drones struck Kerch and Port Kavkaz, igniting an oil depot, damaging buildings and prompting authorities to suspend ferry crossings and retail fuel sales in Crimea and Sevastopol.
- Russian forces launched a broad overnight attack using ballistic and aeroballistic missiles plus dozens of drones, causing deaths, multiple injuries and property damage in Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk and other regions.
- Moscow’s Defense Ministry reported very large interception tallies, saying air defenses downed hundreds of Ukrainian drones and guided bombs, while Ukraine published video footage and claims of successful strikes on transport, fuel depots and three railway bridges.
- Local services have already been hit: parts of Crimea face power outages, fuel is being reserved for government and emergency vehicles, ferry and public transport schedules have been cut, and hospitals are treating the wounded.
- The attacks continue a Ukrainian effort to disrupt logistics supporting occupied Crimea and southern Russia and carry the risk of further civilian shortages and transport bottlenecks if strikes and counterstrikes persist.
