Rush-Hour Incidents Snarl M25 Near Heathrow, M60 and M62 as Crews Respond

Officials say most scenes are clear, with residual delays from recovery work.

Overview

  • A multi-vehicle collision on the M25 between junctions 11 and 10 stopped traffic before clearing, with National Highways warning of about 30 minutes of delays and roughly three miles of congestion near Heathrow.
  • Two separate breakdowns on the M60 anticlockwise through Salford closed lanes near junctions 16–15 and at junction 12, with the M62 eastbound slip to the M60 shut and queues spilling onto the M62 and M61.
  • On the B4176 at Danford near Claverley, fire crews cut a trapped driver from a car after a two-vehicle crash; West Midlands Ambulance Service treated the woman for serious injuries and took her to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, and the road was open by midday.
  • Traffic on the M62 westbound was temporarily held at junction 23 near Huddersfield following an accident, with Inrix reporting queues in the area.
  • An earlier multi-vehicle crash on the M6 northbound within junction 9 at Wednesbury and Walsall had reopened after long tailbacks that extended toward M5 junction 1, with lingering slowdowns partly blamed on onlookers.
