Overview

  • Voters in Georgia’s 13th District are deciding a special runoff on Tuesday, Aug. 25, between Democrat Everton Blair and Marcye Scott to replace the late Rep. David Scott.
  • About 5,200 early and mail ballots were reported before Election Day, with Gwinnett County supplying the largest share of those votes.
  • The winner will be sworn in to serve the remainder of Scott’s term and is not running for the full 2027 term that begins Jan. 3, 2027.
  • A separate November contest will decide the full term, with state Rep. Jasmine Clark set to face Republican Jonathan Chavez.
