RuneScape Overhauls Player-Owned Housing With Crafting Progression and Homesteads

The revamp shifts Construction toward active furniture crafting to reward player engagement, opening housing to shared social use.

Overview

  • Jagex released the Player-Owned Housing overhaul on July 13, 2026, replacing the old build-and-destroy Construction loop with a furniture crafting progression and raising Construction’s cap from 99 to 120.
  • The update adds more than 650 decorative items, five house styles, flexible room shapes, and free furniture placement so players can design interiors and change flooring, frames and furniture skins.
  • A new Homestead system lets up to five players form or join a shared home, move freely between each other’s plots, use neighbours’ facilities, and host unlimited visitors for social events.
  • Practical additions include display stations for boss trophies and achievements, expanded storage, a Teleport Nexus and other teleport options, plus combat-prep tools such as cauldrons, a gilded altar and an armour repair stand.
  • Jagex says it has already fixed multiple launch issues, plans dozens more changes driven by player feedback, and intends to add new furniture and features regularly as part of its 25th Anniversary Road to Restoration.
