RuneScape: Dragonwilds to Launch on PS5 in Fall 2026 via PlayStation Plus

A day-one release on PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium aims to widen RuneScape’s audience by bringing the Early Access survival spinoff to consoles.

Overview

  • Jagex announced on Tuesday, June 2, that RuneScape: Dragonwilds will arrive on PlayStation 5 in Fall 2026 and be available day one on PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium.
  • The PlayStation reveal follows the game’s Steam Early Access run, where Dragonwilds has sold more than one million copies and received major updates since April 2025.
  • Dragonwilds is a separate open-world survival crafting title that supports up to four-player co-op and mixes magic-based tools, quests, skill progression, and dragon encounters.
  • Jagex has not provided a precise PS5 release date and has not confirmed whether the console launch will support crossplay with the existing PC player base, though developer roadmaps have hinted at a September window.
  • The console push could expose RuneScape to new players but also raises risks because the survival/crafting market is crowded and the game will need strong polish and platform-bridging features to sustain momentum.
