RuneScape: Dragonwilds Sets September 15 Release on PS5, Xbox and PC

The multi-platform launch packages major new content to build on strong Early Access sales and player-shaped development.

Overview

  • Jagex announced on Friday at Summer Game Fest that RuneScape: Dragonwilds will exit Early Access and release as version 1.0 on September 15 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, with the PS5 edition arriving day one on the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog.
  • The full launch consolidates the Scorned Wilderness update and the summer Umbral Sands expansion into a single 1.0 release so players get both sets of new content at launch.
  • Dragonwilds sold more than one million copies during its Steam Early Access run and holds a Very Positive Steam rating, with roughly 81% of more than 19,000 reviews marked positive, a performance Jagex says was guided by player feedback.
  • The game is a RuneScape-adjacent open-world survival crafting title that supports solo play or co-op for up to four players and combines skills, crafting, quests and large dragon encounters on the continent of Ashenfall.
  • Inclusion on PlayStation Plus should widen Dragonwilds’ audience but also increases competition in the crowded survival-crafting market, and Jagex has not yet clarified platform crossplay or other post-launch support details to watch for.
