Royner Navarro Wins Opening Road Stage as Vuelta de Mendoza Marks 50th Edition

  • Peru’s Royner Navarro (Municipalidad de Guaymallén) took Stage 1 from Junín to Tupungato in 2:44:50, leading a dominant showing by the local squad.
  • Gerardo Tivani (Municipalidad de San Carlos) won the Godoy Cruz prologue to don the leader’s jersey at the start of the event.
  • About 120–130 riders across 19 teams are competing, with international delegations from Chile, Brazil, Bolivia and other countries reported.
  • The anniversary route features a prologue plus ten stages across Gran Mendoza, Valle de Uco, the Zona Este and the south of the province.
  • Organized by the Asociación Ciclista Mendocina with provincial backing, the event includes municipal traffic measures such as street closures in Godoy Cruz for safety.
