Overview
- The Royal Mint put the collectable series on sale at 9am on Tuesday, June 9, offering multiple editions direct from its website.
- Aardman designed the coin reverse to feature Morph, Shaun the Sheep, Feathers McGraw and Wallace and Gromit with some versions produced in full colour.
- Editions range from a brilliant uncirculated 50p at £15 to a limited gold proof at £2,420 with silver and colour proofs priced between those levels.
- Aardman co-founder Peter Lord visited the Mint to strike one of the first coins, celebrating the collaboration and the studio’s craftsmanship.
- The gold coin will be made from recycled gold sourced from old jewellery and coins and The Royal Mint plans to extend recycled sourcing to all its collectable gold coins by the end of 2026.
