Routematic Launches AI-Powered COCO Rides Shuttle in Pune’s Hinjewadi

The service shifts IT staff to reserved-seat buses on fixed routes to ease peak-hour jams.

Overview

  • COCO Rides, which launched Tuesday at the Infosys campus in Hinjewadi, starts with more than 80 buses running across over 70 routes.
  • Employees of companies in the Hinjawadi Industries Association can pre-book seats in the app for fixed schedules and pricing at more than 500 boarding points.
  • The first phase is built for up to 20,000 daily riders, with organizers saying the network could reach over 125,000 employees across 80-plus firms.
  • The rollout is a joint effort with the industry association and carries support from the state development body MIDC and the Regional Transport Office.
  • The move revives the Metrozip shuttle brand that shut in 2020 during remote and hybrid work, as Routematic signals plans to expand to other business hubs.
