Rolls-Royce Unveils Project Nightingale, a 100-Car Electric Coachbuild Convertible

The invitation-only model signals a push to blend bespoke coachbuilding with an all-electric future.

Overview

  • Rolls-Royce introduced Project Nightingale on Tuesday as the first car in its Coachbuild Collection, limited to 100 invitation-only two-seat convertibles.
  • Global testing and validation will begin later this summer with first deliveries planned from 2028, and full power, range, and speed figures will be released during development.
  • The soft-top runs on the brand’s aluminum Architecture of Luxury with a fully electric drivetrain, and its long, tapered profile nods to the marque’s 1920s EX experimental cars.
  • Each car will be hand-built at the Goodwood facility in West Sussex with deep personalization and curated access to designers and craftspeople through the Coachbuild program.
  • Rolls-Royce has already identified the 100 clients, largely in the UK, Europe, the United States and the Middle East, with the model not homologated for China and media estimating prices around £7 million without an official figure.
