Roller to Close Four German Stores by June as Clearance Sales Begin

Roller cites subdued consumer demand as the reason for the cuts.

Overview

  • The affected locations are Villingen-Schwenningen, Crailsheim, Reutlingen and Oldenburg (Holstein).
  • Crailsheim will close by the end of April 2026, and the other three stores will shut by no later than the end of June 2026.
  • The company has not disclosed how many employees are affected but says it will actively offer nearby vacancies to impacted staff.
  • Roller says it will continue to operate more than 100 German locations, and no closures are planned in North Rhine-Westphalia at this time.
  • The retrenchment reflects a wider consolidation in furniture retail driven by weak demand, high costs and growing online competition.
