Overview
- Police carried out a concentrated enforcement action following a local tuning event that checked 233 vehicles and put 51 through immediate technical inspection.
- Speed controls covered 3,403 vehicles and produced 94 reports for speeding, with a motorcyclist recorded at 169 km/h in a 100 km/h zone who was stopped and had his licence confiscated on the spot.
- Enforcers found many illegal modifications and safety defects including one vehicle with a manipulated exhaust that registered 119 decibels compared with the permitted 77 decibels.
