Rock in Rio Begins Assembly of Giant Palco Mundo and City‑Scale Site

Overview

• Rock in Rio has started on‑site assembly of the Palco Mundo, which the festival says will be 107 meters wide and feature 2,400 m² of high‑definition LED facing the audience.
• The Cidade do Rock is being built as a temporary city covering 385,000 m² with capacity for more than 100,000 visitors per day, 1,314 toilets and over 5,000 m² of LED across stages.
• Organizers told the press on July 16 that ticket sales are about 20% higher than the last edition and several dates including Sept. 6, 11 and 12 are already sold out.
