Roadworks and Truck Crashes Grind Valencia and Catalonia Traffic for Second Day

Lane cuts on the A-7 near the CV-35 alongside ongoing crash cleanup continue to force diversions with long queues.

  • DGT reported more than 44 kilometers of delays on Valencia’s main approaches on Friday morning after heavy congestion on Thursday.
  • The A-7 at Paterna was fully diverted for about an hour on Thursday after a truck carrying paper coils overturned and caught fire at km 336, generating queues of up to 13 kilometers; the driver was out of the vehicle and received medical attention.
  • Friday evening repainting works on the A-7 before the CV-35 cut multiple lanes, triggering a major collapse and routing vehicles onto the Pista de Ademuz and local streets toward Bétera.
  • A separate truck lost a load of powdered chocolate on the AP-7 between Reus and Constantí on Friday, closing access for cleanup and sending traffic toward Salou, while additional crashes and breakdowns on the B-20, C-32, C-58 and other corridors compounded jams.
  • Seven people were injured in a collision involving two cars and a bus on the N332A in Santa Pola, with patients transferred to several hospitals, according to Europa Press.
