Rivian Finalizes R2 Rollout: $57,990 Performance Launch Edition Starts Deliveries This Spring

The mid-size SUV is Rivian’s volume play with 330 miles of range, native NACS fast charging and lifetime Autonomy+ bundled in the Launch Package.

Overview

  • Rivian published the full R2 lineup and timing: Performance Launch Package this spring ($57,990), Premium late 2026 ($53,990), Standard RWD Long Range in the first half of 2027 ($48,490) and a $45,000 Standard in late 2027.
  • The Launch Edition is a dual-motor AWD rated at 656 hp and 609 lb-ft with an EPA-estimated 330-mile range and a 0–60 mph time as quick as 3.6 seconds.
  • Higher trims use an 87.9 kWh usable battery, and Rivian says the R2 can fast charge from 10% to 80% in about 29 minutes via its native NACS port.
  • All trims ship with Autonomy+ hardware; access costs $49.99 per month or a $2,500 one-time fee, and the Launch Package includes lifetime access along with a tow package rated up to 4,400 pounds.
  • Rivian guides 2026 deliveries at 62,000–67,000 vehicles and projects roughly 20,000–25,000 R2s as production ramps in Normal, Illinois, as analysts flag policy shifts and softer EV demand as potential headwinds.
