Overview
- Rivian and developer Caruso announced a multi-year deal to add more than 150 public DC fast chargers across Caruso’s Los Angeles retail and mixed-use properties, plus new showrooms in Calabasas and Glendale.
- The chargers will be open to all electric cars, use the North American Charging Standard (NACS) connector, and run on renewable energy, with installations expected over the next year.
- The timing supports Rivian’s R2 rollout as the SUV moves into volume production and targets first customer deliveries in June, with R2 using NACS natively and R1 owners relying on company-supplied adapters.
- The partnership adds consumer perks and events at Caruso sites, including ride-and-drive experiences, free parking for enrolled Rivian owners, and a presenting role at The Grove’s annual holiday show.
- The urban placements complement Rivian’s Adventure Network of nearly 1,000 fast-charging stalls nationwide, expanding access in California’s most EV-dense market where LA County already leads in DC fast chargers.
