Ripple Wins Luxembourg Green Light for MiCA CASP Pending Final Conditions

Meeting the remaining regulatory requirements would let Ripple pair the CASP approval with its existing EMI license to offer regulated fiat plus stablecoin payments across the 30 EEA countries.

Overview

  • Luxembourg’s financial regulator, the CSSF, issued a Green Light Letter giving Ripple preliminary approval for a Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) license on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
  • Once the CSSF’s outstanding conditions are met the CASP authorization can be finalized and passported to all 30 countries in the European Economic Area, letting Ripple offer crypto-asset services continent-wide.
  • The CSSF message is explicitly preliminary: the Green Light Letter signals intent to authorize but does not remove the remaining regulatory checks required for full MiCA compliance.
  • Ripple plans to run the CASP permission alongside an existing Electronic Money Institution license so banks, fintechs and corporates can use one regulated integration for fiat flows and its RLUSD stablecoin.
  • The move builds on Ripple’s wider licensing push — the company cites more than 75 global licenses and $100 billion in processed volume — and arrives days before MiCA’s July 1, 2026 enforcement deadline, making timing material for market access.
