Riot Reveals Summit, a Valorant Map with Droppable Walls That Reshape Rounds

Designed to force mid-round adaptation by permanently changing sightlines, the map will enter Competitive on June 24 with temporary rank-loss protections.

Overview

  • Summit introduces three droppable walls—one on A, one on B and one in Mid—that players activate by shooting nearby switches and that stay closed for the rest of the round, cutting off routes and sightlines.
  • Riot confirmed Summit will launch as part of Season 2026 // Act 4 and enter Competitive on June 24, with a Summit-only queue and a two-week system that reduces RR losses by 50% for defeats on the map.
  • Developers say the map’s tighter layout, curved architecture and permanent map changes are meant to create faster, close-to-medium range fights and force teams to change plans mid-round.
  • Act 4 will also add the Retake 3v3 limited-time mode, the Blackspyre skin collection, and a new Battle Pass that arrive alongside Summit as part of the June 24 update.
  • Some previews reported that players trapped under a closing wall are killed, but that detail comes from limited sources and has not been emphasized as an official focal point from Riot.
