Riot Activates Rank‑Manipulation Detection and Begins Penalties in VALORANT Patch 13.01

The developer will use new detection tools and punishments to protect ranked fairness and deter deliberate matchmaking abuse.

Overview

  • Riot began rolling out upgraded rank‑manipulation detection and enforcement with Patch 13.01, and started issuing penalties for confirmed cases to preserve competitive integrity.
  • Penalties listed by Riot include account suspensions, rank reversions, and removal of ranked rewards, and players will receive in‑game reporter and bystander feedback when someone from their match is penalized.
  • Patch 13.01 also reworks the Outlaw sniper by increasing recovery time, spread, and recoil after the first shot to reward cleaner aim over rapid chaining.
  • Iso and Yoru received modest buffs: Iso’s Double Tap now lets weapon swaps equip instantly and Yoru’s Gatecrash beacon lasts longer while Fakeout clones now carry Yoru’s last equipped weapon.
  • The update bundles dozens of agent, map, and general bug fixes and adds PC Discord integration that launched as a Brazil beta and will roll out globally on July 21.
