Rio Expands PIX to All Buses as City Delays End of Cash Fares to June 28

Overview

• PIX payments will be available on 100% of the municipal bus fleet starting Saturday, May 30, and the city has postponed the ban on cash fares until June 28.
• Contactless credit and debit payments using NFC are scheduled to begin rolling out on June 15 and to be expanded across the system through the end of June.
