Overview
- A 56-year-old man was found next to an electric scooter on Butte Drive and was pronounced dead at the scene after losing control of the vehicle Thursday afternoon.
- Police say the rider was on a GoTrax Apex Pro Commuting scooter and was traveling southbound against the flow of traffic when he tried to move from the roadway onto a driveway and lost control.
- Authorities report no other vehicles were involved and the victim has not been publicly identified.
- The Major Accident Investigation Team is leading the probe and investigators say it is unclear whether drugs or alcohol were factors while toxicology and the final cause of death remain pending.
