- Owner Bob Corritore announced Wednesday that The Rhythm Room will shut its doors on May 30, 2027, and will reopen for a farewell season beginning Aug. 27, 2026.
- Corritore said his approaching 70th birthday and a first-ever summer shutdown showed that attendance drops and hotter summers made keeping the club open in summer months unprofitable.
- The venue will host a planned final run of shows through late May, including a Sept. 25, 2026 all-star birthday and 35th anniversary celebration and other special concerts.
- Longtime manager Lynsey Curtis will return for the final season and Corritore said he will keep performing, recording, promoting shows, and hosting his KJZZ-FM blues radio program after the club closes.
- The Rhythm Room opened in 1991 on Indian School Road and has been a core Phoenix blues and roots spot that helped incubate touring and local acts, making its planned closure a major loss for the local music community.
