Overview
- The RFEF confirmed on Thursday that the 2027 Supercopa de España will be held at Istanbul’s Atatürk Olympic Stadium from 2 to 7 February 2027.
- The competition will keep its four-team Final Four format with FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Real Sociedad and Atlético Madrid taking part.
- RFEF says the move is a single-season solution because Saudi Arabia will host the AFC Asian Cup at overlapping dates and cannot host both events simultaneously.
- The federation worked with event partner SELA and evaluated multiple bids before selecting Istanbul as the temporary host.
- RFEF emphasizes that staging the Supercopa abroad preserves international broadcast and commercial income that it directs to nearly 1,000 Spanish clubs and that the tournament is expected to return to Saudi Arabia in 2028.
