Rex A. Loveless, 58, Dies After I-75 Shoulder Crash in Rockcastle County

State police are investigating a passenger’s report that he pulled over in pain moments before the car hit a rock wall.

Troopers were alerted just after 3 p.m. Tuesday to a single-vehicle crash at the 63-mile marker on I-75 southbound near Mount Vernon.
Preliminary findings identify the driver as Rex A. Loveless traveling in a Dodge Charger before stopping on the right shoulder.
The passenger, Melinda Loveless, told investigators the vehicle then rolled off the shoulder and struck a rock wall.
Rockcastle County EMS took the driver to Rockcastle Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The passenger was not injured, next of kin was at the scene, and the cause remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
