- ACB Karimnagar unit arrested revenue inspector Manchikatla Rahul after catching him accepting ₹30,000 at a complainant’s home in Siripuram Colony as part payment for a bribe.
- ACB says Rahul, who works at the Beerpur Tahsildar’s office, had demanded ₹50,000 for a field survey and a report needed to issue a Pattadar passbook, later reducing the demand to ₹40,000.
- Of the ₹40,000 demanded, ₹30,000 was paid up front and the remaining ₹10,000 was to be paid after the work; ACB recovered the ₹30,000 during the arrest and has begun an investigation.
- Rahul was produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases in Karimnagar and the case is under inquiry while the complainant’s identity is being withheld for security.
- The ACB urged citizens to report similar demands on its toll-free number 1064, noting that small bribe solicitations for routine land work are a known risk in land records administration and that reporting can trigger sting operations.
