  • Police said the 59-year-old had excavated a base and briefly left his cab to inspect the work when the support wall tipped.

  • Fire brigades from Auchsesheim and Donauwörth, about 30 personnel in total, freed him using a pneumatic lifting cushion.
  • He was flown by rescue helicopter to the University Hospital in Augsburg, and police reported no life-threatening injuries.
