Report Says Arkansas Freshman Karim Rtail Enters Transfer Portal

The reported move signals early roster churn for Arkansas.

Overview

  • Karim Rtail, reported by On3 to have entered the NCAA transfer portal Tuesday, became Arkansas' third offseason departure after Karter Knox and D. J. Wagner.
  • A later Arkansas Online story said freshman center Elmir Dzafic also entered, pushing the total to four departures.
  • Rtail missed much of the team’s pre-semester practice because of a summer back injury, which affected his early availability.
  • Before joining Arkansas, he played for Neptūnas-Akvaservis in Lithuania and averaged 8.3 points and 4.5 rebounds on 42.6% shooting after choosing the Razorbacks over SMU, Penn State and Butler.
  • The portal opened Tuesday, and Arkansas Online relayed On3’s report without an official confirmation from the university.
